W ostatnich tygodniach nastąpił w mediach zalew artykułów związanych z danymi z raportu organizacji konsumenckiej Que Choisir: Comparatif Substances toxiques dans les cosmétiques, który został opublikowany 20 lutego 2017. Na liście tej znalazło się wiele znanych produktów, oskarżanych o stwarzanie zagrożeń dla zdrowia konsumentów.
Polski Związek Przemysłu Kosmetycznego zwraca uwagę, że zarówno publikacja Que Choisir, jak i artykuły związane z „czarną listą kosmetyków”, są nierzetelne i wprowadzają w błąd czytelników. Wszystkie produkty kosmetyczne wprowadzane do obrotu na rynku UE podlegają szczegółowej ocenie toksykologicznej. Jest to wprost wymagane prawem – przepisami rozporządzenia 1223/2009/WE.
