Według szacunków, Polska jest szóstym eksporterem kosmetyków w Europie, a produkty wytworzone w Polsce trafiają do ponad 130 krajów na całym świecie. Z danych GUS wynika, że eksport produkowanych w Polsce kosmetyków wyniósł w 2015 roku 10,1 mld zł, co oznacza ponad 7% wzrost w porównaniu do 2014 roku.
Polska importuje kosmetyki o wartości 7,4 mld zł, a to znaczy, że bilans handlowy jest na plusie. Na ten obraz niemały jednak wpływ ma fakt, że w Polsce wiele koncernów ulokowało swoją produkcję. Jednak większość rodzimych firm sukcesywnie zwiększa udziały sprzedaży eksportowej. Polskie kosmetyki wciąż spisują się bardzo dobrze na rynkach Europy Środkowo-Wschodniej, ale coraz lepiej wypada eksport na rynki Bliskiego Wschodu i Afryki Północnej.
