Jak podaje Rzeczpospolita niemiecki koncern Metro AG otworzył w tym roku 14 kolejnych sklepów. Natomiast dystrybutor importowanej żywności, spółka North Coast, otworzyła kawiarnię.

Metro AG, który prowadzi w Polsce sieci Real, Makro, Media Markt oraz Saturn, otworzył w 2008 roku 14 nowych sklepów, tworząc w ten sposób 2 tysiące miejsc pracy. Firma prowadzi w Polsce 132 placówki, w których zatrudnia 28,5 tysiąca osób.

 

Spółka North Coast otworzyła w Warszawie od dawna zapowiadaną kawiarnię Espressamente Illy a na początku 2009 roku zapowiada otwarcie kolejnego lokalu - w Krakowie. Sieć działa już w ponad 20 krajach.
