Byliśmy jednym z pierwszych sklepów w okolicy, który wprowadził samoobsługę. Jak można się domyślać prowokowało to wiele osób do kradzieży. Pewnego dnia złapaliśmy sześciu młodych chłopaków na wynoszeniu towaru ze sklepu. Okazało się, że były to miejscowe dzieciaki, które znałem. Pomyślałem, że nic nie da, jeśli zgłoszę sprawę na policję czy do rodziców. Postanowiłem dać im nauczkę w inny sposób. Wymyśliłem malowanie ściany w sklepie, które miało być formą odpracowania skradzionych rzeczy. Pewnego dnia jeden z nich malował, a ja nagle usłyszałem rumor! Okazało się, że do sklepu wszedł ojciec chłopaka, a ten uciekł na zaplecze, żeby się schować. Moja metoda okazała się skuteczna, bo chłopcy od tej chwili wręcz pilnowali sklepu, żeby wina za ewentualną kradzież nie spadła na nich.
