Zysk Tesco najsłabszy od 15 lat

W minionym roku Tesco, drugi europejski detalista, zanotowało najmniejszy wzrost zysku od 15 lat. Zysk netto brytyjskiej spółki wzrósł w roku rozrachunkowym kończącym się 28 lutego o 1,7 proc. do 2,16 mld GBP. Analitycy prognozowali, że będzie o 100 mln GBP wyższy. Ostatni raz Tesco notowało gorszą dynamikę zysku w 1994 roku, kiedy spadł on o 24 procent.

W Polsce Tesco rozpoczęło swoją działalność w listopadzie 1995 roku jako inwestor strategiczny sieci supermarketów Savia. Pierwszy sklep z logo Tesco został otwarty w 1998 roku we Wrocławiu. W lipcu 2002 roku po przejęciu 16 niemieckich hipermarketów „HIT" Tesco stało się jedną z największych sieci detalicznych w Polsce. W 2005 roku firma kupiła dodatkowo 9 sklepów austriackiej firmy Julius Meinl.

 

W listopadzie 2006 roku Tesco podpisało z Grupą Casino umowę zakupu 100 proc. udziałów w spółce Leader Price. Tesco zakupiło 133 sklepów Leader Price, które przez kolejnych kilka miesięcy zostały przekształcane na Tesco. Jest to kolejny etap rozwoju sieci Tesco, która w ciągu ostatnich dwóch lat rozwija sklepy małego formatu.

 

Obecnie sieć handlowa Tesco liczy: 320 sklepów, 24 stacje benzynowe i 3 centra dystrybucyjne.
