4 czerwca 2018 roku zarząd JAWO podjął decyzję o złożeniu deklaracji rezygnacji z używania do produkcji wyrobów firmy, m.in. pierogów, klusek czy naleśników, jaj „trójek”.
Najpóźniej do roku 2025 firma wycofa ostatecznie z produkcji pasteryzowane jaja płynne pochodzące z hodowli klatkowych. Swą decyzję przedstawiciele jednego z największych producentów produktów mrożonych na bazie mąki i ziemniaków tłumaczą oczekiwaniami społecznymi i wzrostem świadomości konsumentów oraz przede wszystkim troską o dobrostan zwierząt. Decyzja ta podyktowana jest względami etycznymi - jak podkreśla zarząd spółki. Firma nie chce się przyczyniać się do cierpienia kur niosek, które przetrzymywane są przez całe swoje życie w ciasnych klatkach, bez dostępu do świeżego powietrza czy wolnego wybiegu. Wspólnie z dostawcami JAWO zadba, aby stopniowo wycofać jaja „3” ze swojej produkcji.
