Święta, a szczególnie czas przed samym Bożym Narodzeniem to okres sporego zamieszania w sklepie. Największym problemem jest zawsze wielkość zamówień. Niemal każdy producent słodyczy czy alkoholi przygotowuje z tej okazji sezonową ofertę, która przykuwa wzrok i dodaje placówce świątecznego nastroju. I tu rodzi się zawsze problem – ile towaru zamówić, by klient miał wybór, a inwestycja w sezonową ofertę przyniosła zysk. Jest to o tyle problematyczne, że kiedy zrobimy zbyt duże zamówienie i sezonowe produkty nie sprzedadzą się przed świętami, to musimy pogodzić się ze stratą. Jeśli na przykład 24 grudnia zostaną nam na półkach czekoladowe figurki Mikołaja, to po świętach już ich na pewno nikt nie kupi. Dużym ułatwieniem są owijki z sezonową grafiką, które można z produktu zdjąć i później oferować do sprzedaży w standardowym opakowania, jednak nie wszyscy producenci się na takie rozwiązanie decydują. Wyjście naprzeciw oczekiwaniom i potrzebom detalistów byłoby korzystne dla obu stron. My nie martwilibyśmy się o zalegający towar, a firma sprzedałaby znacznie więcej swoich produktów.
