Unilever stawia na produkty roślinne i ogłasza nową inicjatywę Future Foods

Celem Future Foods jest edukacja i zachęcanie ludzi do zmiany diety na taką, która będzie korzystna nie tylko dla naszego zdrowia, ale również planety, na której żyjemy. Program ma przyczynić się do zmniejszania wpływu produkcji żywności i łańcucha dostaw na środowisko. Unilever w ciągu najbliższych 5-7 lat planuje osiągnięcie sprzedaży roślinnych alternatyw mięsa i nabiału na poziomie 1 mld euro.
Unilever już od kilku lat stawia na rozwój portfolio produktów pochodzenia roślinnego. W 2018 r. firma przejęła The Vegetarian Butcher, a następnie rozszerzyła sprzedaż mięsa roślinnego tej marki na ponad 30 krajów. Już dziś produkty te są dostępne w Polsce – Unilever został dostawcą Whooperów pochodzenia roślinnego dla sieci restauracji Burger King oraz roślinnych nuggetsów do burgera „Wegger” dostępnego w sieci Żabka. Wkrótce produkty The Vegetarian Butcher znajdą się na sklepowych półkach w całej Polsce.
