Inflacja w 2021 roku będzie niższa niż w 2020. Na wolniejsze tempo wpływ będzie miało spowolnienie wzrostu cen żywności wobec minionych kilkunastu miesięcy, choć opłata cukrowa i podatek od sprzedaży detalicznej mogą zachwiać prognozami.
Nadpodaż mięsa i globalny wzrost cen produktów zbożowych, uzależnienie plonów warzyw od pogody i wpływ blokad spowodowanych pandemią na ceny owoców – to główne czynniki warunkujące ceny żywności w tym roku. Prognoza ta jest zgodna z zaprezentowaną w listopadowej projekcji inflacji przez Narodowy Bank Polski.
