Rośnie liczba konsumentów jabłek. Zima przyniosła odwrócenie kilkunastoletniego trendu spadkowego, a końcówka wiosny to pierwszy od pięciu lat – odkąd Kantar Polska prowadzi monitoring konsumpcji – istotny wzrost liczby osób sięgających po jabłka.
Wzrosty obserwowane są wśród kobiet i mężczyzn we wszystkich grupach w podziale na wykształcenie, sytuację zawodową, dochody, miejsce zamieszkania. Jeśli złamanie trendu się potwierdzi, będzie to sukces wielu środowisk, m.in. Towarzystwa Rozwoju Sadów Karłowych, Krajowego Związku Grup Producentów Owoców i Warzyw, Związku Sadowników RP, Unii Owocowej i Stowarzyszenia Sady Grójeckie. Współtworzą one projekt edukacyjno-informacyjny „Jedno jabłko dziennie”. Projekt finansowany jest z Funduszu Promocji Owoców i Warzyw.
