Brak paragonu nie oznacza, że konsument nie może reklamować towaru z tytułu jego niezgodności z umową. Sprzedawca może wprawdzie wymagać od konsumenta przedstawienia dowodu zakupu, jednak paragon fiskalny jest tylko jednym z dowodów, którymi może się posłużyć konsument. Fakt, że doszło do zakupu towaru konsument może wykazać, również przedstawiając np. wyciąg z karty kredytowej, wydruk z terminala płatniczego lub potwierdzenie dokonania przelewu.
